Sarbani Hazra first performed at a poetry recital at the age of 5 and never looked back. She has acted in various theater productions including "Miss Reardon Drinks A Little" at Actors Playhouse in Boston. She has also been in many notable films including the Golden Globe and Oscar nominated film, The Great Debaters. Two of her films, Revelation and December 31st , were shown at the 2007 Boston International Film Festival. In addition to acting, she has performed stand up for several years in Boston and New York City. Her stage persona "Masala Mami" has garnered much attention. She hosted a regular comic segment on the show, The Best Half (see Press).
Sarbani is a classically trained dancer and choreographer. She has toured all over the U.S., India, and Turkey. Sarbani received a B.A. from Smith College. She has trained at HB Studio and with Roger Hendricks Simon. Sarbani was also involved with the Epic Actors Workshop. She has trained in improvisation and character work at Improvolution and the Magnet. With her diverse talents, multi-ethnic beauty, wit, and charm she is simply unstoppable.
